In April 2015, groundbreaking for a memorial honoring the sacrifices of military veterans took place on Archer Lodge town property near the intersection of Archer Lodge and Buffalo Roads.
Present were the last surviving veterans of World War II, along with a host of local government officials, military dignitaries, and the first contributors to the Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial Fund.
First conceived and presented to the Archer Lodge Town Council in 2014, the Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial is scheduled to be completed in phases, with the goal of final dedication taking place on November 11, 2018 — exactly 100 years after the end of World War I.
Capital for the design and construction of the Veterans Memorial will primarily be generated through the contributions of individual and corporate donors. A number of fundraising efforts are already underway, including the sale of commemorative bricks, which will comprise the primary surface area of the Memorial.
Bricks may be purchased and dedicated by anyone, living inside or outside of the area, in honor of ANY veteran, whether or not they were a resident of the Archer Lodge community. Please click the link below to fill out and print an order form for a commemorative brick.
